Hey all, Silly question and i am guessing there is no correct answer but... How many posts is recommended for the front page / pages in general ? I have a "Free Templates" project (See my Signature).. and i am struggling to find anything further to jam into my sidebars to fill up the blank spaces so i started playing around to limit the post counts per page.. Ive reduced it from the default 8 posts down to 6 posts... (still a lot of white space left tho, but much better). Is there a recommended amount of posts / words for one page ?? Thanks for any help on this topic, really i should already know the answer to this since ive been farting around with sites for a long time but i haven't even thought of asking before. Regards, Darren
Well, looks like you are a fresher in SEO. To be honest, free template keywords are practically not possible to rank, unless you have great budget and time to play with. Please read seomoz blog to get some basics on SEO and start working on it. There are nothing like if you have these many posts, your site will come up in Google. Moreover links for your website in DP is nofollow and so they dont count at all !
Thanks, but i am not worried about ranking for "Free Templates" just yet.. i use the site to promote my designs and sponsored designs.. the site is only 2 weeks old but already getting good traffic... I was just wondering if there was an idea amount of posts for a front page.. Cheers
See, as such there is no recommended number of posts. In case of dilemma, its better to conduct A/B split testing using Google website optimizer. This will help you in making a wise decision.
you can make as many post as you like, but you should target only one keyword on every page. make sure your post have minimum of 500 words each
