i know that if you put your sites link in your sig on all the forums you post on, it helps with traffic and backlinks.. im on several forums i post on daily but i am curious to ask this.... how many times should you post for each forum? so that it would start making a difference in traffic and starting to see backlinks increase?
Try at least 10 posts per day on each forum, if you have 3 links in sig, that's 30 links per day per forum.
if you target SEO you have to get 100+ to see some changes in next serp update. if you target forum traffic you have to make excellent posts that are in benefit of reader and are interesting.
If you have 4 signatures (as here in DP max.4 allowed) if you post i post or thread it will give 1 backlink each to your 4 sites. Now yu decides how many backlinks you want for your sites
Policy for allowing SIG links differ from forum to forum. You need to make 10 posts in this forum, some others might require 3 or 25. Totally depends on forum admins. Forums are an excellent source of getting highly targeted traffic, my recommendation is to be active on some forums relevant to your niche and you should get some traffic and sales coming your way.
In addition to a minimum number of posts before you can add a signature, different forums have different rules about the number of links you can put in your signature. I have seen sites that only allow one link in sugnature and others that allow up to 4 links.
I would say try to pick out 5 DOMAIN forums that you want to build a reputation, then the others, you can post whenever you like, however, post mostly on those of the top 5.
Zonsu, You usually don't want to put your URL in your signature...it's SEO benefit is diminished because, while it's a link, it's one that doesn't have any search relevance. Instead you want to anchor it with your targeted keyword. So if you sell Claw Hammers and are trying to rank for the term "Claw Hammer" and run the site "www.ClawHammerPlanet.com" then instead of having your signaure be: Find the Wides Selection of Claw Hammers at <a href="http://www.clawhammerplanet.com">ClawHammerPlanet.com</a> Code (markup): You should instead have it structured as: If you are looking for a quality <a href="http://www.clawhammerplanet.com">claw hammer</a> for the best prices make sure you stop by http://www.ClawHammerPlanet.com Code (markup): You want to some up in the searches for "Claw Hammer" and so you want THAT to be your link unless you specifically are trying to get traffic from your forum signature. In the second coding example we I anchored "claw hammer" to make it easy for Google to associate the site with that keyword. The actual URL at the end may or may not be clickable depending on the forum software being utilized. It doens't matter though because you got your keyword phrase anchored...which is what really counts for SEO. Obviously, your site is probably not about claw hammers, but you should be able to carry over the idea to whatever site you are trying to promote.
The more posts, the better. But of course, you need to post relevant, intelligent comments. Don't spam the forums if you don't want to get banned.
Depends... Such as the forum underground where posts don't count at all from guests stand point/google etc.
