    I'm hosting wordpress blog.
Default wordpress is 10 posting per page.
Sometime it seems too much for me because the side bar won't have such long list of information to accompany 10 posting length.
Which means your blog page will look empty at your side bar portion.
But does it really matters to you?
How many posting per page is the best in your opinion?
    Thanks.

If you are using post summary hack i.e write only summary and then click to read full. You can use 5-10 posts and you have to.

If not you should use atleast three posts on main page. Then forget about sidebar content becuase i don't feel less than three posts i should keep on my blog. Check my blogs in signature for both examples.

A a blog may look more attractive if you can maximize your sidebar, but not really. post length depends on my font size. I use to have 5 expandable posts but made it 6 to attract more readers.

Also, don't let your readers getting tired by scrolling it down and up.

Yeah, it does matter because 10 posts will mean that sidebar won't be able to balance up with that much information and thus it will make things look weird. For me either two or three should be the right number depending on how long your post is.

I think it really depends on how you are displaying them.

If you are displaying full posts. Then I believe that 5 is acceptable. If you are only showing excerpts then 10.

However, with todays templates you can easily display more than 10. Many templates rotate posts using flash, or organize them in tabs. There are also a lot that mix things up and show some posts just titles, others just excerpts, and full posts too.

So in short, I dont feel that this is a question that can really be answered

Imo, 10 posts would be ideal. It will make it look clean and also not overload your page with contents. In the sense, te page will also load quickly. So, 10 would be ideal and nice!
