    1.

No harm in letting SEs detect your blog. I released my forum with 1 post. :D.

SEs are happy to index sites with one page also.

sachin410 is right, number doesn't matter.

I started my blog with 1 post, just keep on writing new content frequently

    I haven't had a specific amount, may be 2-3 for a start :)
SE's shouldn't mind indexing even one though.
All I simply do is add content on a regular basis

As long as you post regularly, you will get attention from the SEs. 1 post a day works well if you can find decent content.

That won't matter. but if you want to start marketing (link bait or social network), better have 5 - 10 post before it

this is a great resource for blog launch

I think you'll need around 20 posts before you can actually start request for link exchanges.. nobody wants to exchange with a site that has one to 5 posts .. it just looks shoddy..

Although the number of posts (and a few other factors) determines your success in "GOOD" link exchanges, I think the content and overall quality of your blog is more important. Heck, if that weren't the case, throw together a 10,000 page MFA site, and see how many quality links you'll receive.

As for the search engine question - start right away with your first post. Get them in there early, and continue updating your blog with content, and you'll do fine.
