    Hi everyone,
I am very new to this forum and new to wordpress as well. I recently started my blog and use free theme. I install 16 plugins to run some option because I don't know php and other development language. So my question is ' Using more plugin make any issue with original function of the site and is it cause to slowdown the site loading speed?. Please help me on this question and let me know if this is not appropriate place to post this thread.
    thanks
    Regard
    Muditha

absolutely but each plugin will have a different impact so you can't put a limit on the number. Even then, if a page only utilises a few of the plugins but there are many installed then the load on the site is limited.

You just need to test it out and see what works and what doesn't.

Make sure you check the reviews of the plugins.

Being able to scan the code in a plugin is a good skill even if you can't actually code. look for words like exec, file_get_contents, curl as they may be sending your info out or calling in harmful code. If the plugin uses encrypted code ANYWHERE then delete and find an alternative.

trying using premium plugin instead of free one and also if you use free one use higher rating one or most Active Installs

Thanks extreamidea for advice. I am using high rate plugins and I always read review before install. Not only for blog most of things before I do, I use to read review. I have plan to buy some premium plugin and I will share my experience once I done.

16 plugins isn't necessarily that much, but often the use of plugins (multiple ones) isn't necessary, since there are plugins that can do multiple things. Depends on what you need plugins for to begin with. And as others have stated, there are widely different server load per plugin - some hardly uses any resources, while others are heavy and slows down the site and bogs down everything.

I reduce the amount and now keep necessary amount only. It is 11 now. However I did not feel my blog getting slow during that period I used 16 plugins. As I mentioned I don't have much knowledge of coding. Anyway thank you for the advice.

The fewer the better. They can slow down your site and pose security threats. You should always update plugins to the latest version.

Thank you for the advised. I will try to reduce more in near future after upgrade to premium theme (here in my blog http://digitalprophotoblog.com ) I am still using free theme and plugins. Because I started it recently, of course not yet complete one month and need little experience before go to premium. However all of your advice is very helpful us as a beginner. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us:)

You can use plugin as you want but If you active many plugin, your website get slow. So deactivate those plugin which are unnecessary.
