Hi, I am starting a new self-hosted WordPress blog, and in this regard I would like to know that what is the maximum number of plug-in that I can sue without compromising the speed and functionality of the wordpress. i do not want my blog to be slow due to plug-ins but at the same time I want a lot of functionality. I would be thankful, if someone answers this question. If possible, can you also provide a list of must-have plug-ins for a WordPress blog? I will monetize it as well, so please also keep that in mind. Thanks Bikram
Below find the must have plugins which one should have: 1. Wp-Supercache ( will dramatically increase your website loading speed ) 2. All In One SEO. 3. Wp-Page navi 4. Statpress Reloaded. 5. Wp-DB Manager ( will automatically optimize your MySql database ) 6.Google XML sitemap generator.
hey i was looking through your suggestions for plug-ins and i like almost all of them. they are really useful too. i actuallu have like twenty plugins and i am running my internet off of a wireless signal thats like 150 feet away and my site loads really fast. like unbelievably fast compared to before. lol i highly recommend all of the plugins
Ad buttons after the deadline ajax plugin helper akismet All in one SEO pack autoblogged flickrRSS get recent comments go green tips Google XML sitemaps Limit posts minimeta widget phpFreeChat popularity contest post password token register plus restrict usernames statpress reloaded wordpress.com stats WP-DB manager WP super cache those are all the ones im using. and i have not had any slow down from my server or from my wireless. altho i hvae had some problems with my hosting service. but thats already being dicussed. lol
For security reasons i'll not mention the plugins i use, just for your information i'd say 49 of them. As far as your question is concerned, you may use 'n' number of plugins, there's no limit. Speed is affected by only some plugins and not all. You will learn as you move on with WP. Within a month, you should be well-off with all plugins in place and a fully functional site.
Instead of using so many plugins at a time i prefer to use only 4-5 most usable plugins at my blog. DON.
I don't think there might be a limit for that. But, it all depends upon your hosting. More number of plugins may use more resources which will cause your hosting to block your account (if shared). So, you must be careful when your site grows.
