i am finding it hard to get any traffic through MSN .. If i target a KW with 500k search , how many hits i can get through MSN if it is in top 10? Thx
i am targetting keywords that are searched for 15,000 times according to the overture tool... I'm # 3 for that keyword and getting 500 uniques / day. And yeah i love to use MSN because it quickly ranks my sites...however ive made 2 new sites last month, they are indexed, but for some reason they arent ranking for their keywords although i have 500 backlinks for each, and the site is very well optimized with quality content !!! It's been a month now =( MSN was the best for new sites bcause it takes ages to get good ranking in google and yahoo, MSN was my lifesaver = (
IME If keyword is related to internet(+webmastering) related then you would get extremely low visitors from msn. But if its from other niches than you can expect 15% of total searches and its 5-10% to your website.
just recently optimised a site thats now on number 2, but on msn.co.uk, from 11M results. The traffic is not that great, around 20 a week! i've not personally been too impressed. yahoo tells a similar story for me.
damn, maybe mdvaldosta can answer my question. im number one for a competitive keyword searched 800K in Overture, but no traffic
"Auction Seller" shows 3.7k searches according to Overture, but in all honesty sometimes those are spoofed or they use related words or it addes up all the search terms with "auction seller" including "ebay auction seller" etc. Always compare to Wordtracker to make sure you get similar results. Wordtracker only shows 38 searches per day... which is more likely the case. Out of those 38, probably 3-4 comes from MSN... hence the reason you get little traffic. (assuming "Auction Seller" is your key term)
I use MSN to check how my best performance sites are listed and linked back but for research matters I use Google and when the resources are exhausted, or the term hard to find, my second option is Altavista.
thank you so much. mdvaldosta, i will optimize my site into better keyword. Frankly i dont use wordtracker, but i'll use it now since its very useful. thanks
