In regards to blogging I'm still quite new. I only started in October and am beginning to attempt new ways of promotion. Recently I stubmled accross BlogCatalog and setup a page (http://www.blogcatalog.com/blogs/noddegamra.html). Do many of you more experienced bloggers also use this? Are there other sites similar/better that you would recommend? Also, there is sponsored listings. Do you recommend paying for this? I appreciate all help/comments/feedback
One thing that interested me was a 7 day trial of their sponsorship program. You get it after you claim your first blog on there. The features aren't that amazing, but one good thing is your site is rotated on the main page which is like PR7.
I've been using Blogcatolog for the last few months and it seems to be useful, but the jury's still out. The more places to give your blog exposure the better.
Hi there - I took a look. Haven't used it, but saw that they have advertising packages there. One of them is a "niche sponsorship," which is interesting. I would use Google Analytics to study it if I tried it. You can learn the "bounce rate" of a referring site -- it means how many people leave right away after just going to one page. You want people who stay longer on your site and go to more pages. Thanks - Scott
Wordpress is usually peoples first choice. Though for first time bloggers having a prebuilt system is better. Cheers!
Yes blogcatalog do brings a lot of traffic if used effectively. I suggest you not to add it to your blog at early stages though
