Can be 1 or 10,000...You never know unless you optimize your article with proper keywords. Include your main keyword in your title and article summary. Try to have the density at about 3% and that would be fine to get you good search engine rankings.
Just keep making things with the keyword you want to rank for.. unknowing for my site im ranked page 1 #3 out of 17,000,000
of course, don't forget to get yourself some good back links too seo will get your foot in the door, but links will bring it home... and if your seo is good, you won't need a lot of links either, just enough for google to see that your page is king
Usually, when I create a new website, it contains about 10 pages with unique articles. Each article has at least 400 words. From my experience, it is enough to rank well in Google for a not very competitive keyword (about 1,000,000 competitors). However do not forget that links are also very important. Even if your content is perfect, you won't see your website on good positions without quality backlinks.
