How many pages for an e-book?

I am writing an e-book, and I am a little concerned that I am writing too many pages.

E-books are not paper books, and I am thinking that e-books should be read on the screen and not printed (at least if you want to read it on the screen, you should be able to).

What's your opinion on this, and how many pages is the maximum of an e-book in your opinion?

    Thanks

As much as a book really. People are used to books and base ebooks on books. I have many ebooks that are real books and others that are just ebooks, both can get up to 200-300 pages. However, it really depends on you target audience and the content. If you are writing an ebook novel or something with a lot of information then that many pages is okay, but if you just have a simple guide, keep it short. I love 10-20 page ebooks!

To sum it up: Don't ramble and write as many pages as you need to while keeping your content concise. Thing scientific papers (sorry I'm in college...).

To be honest , a 10 Page eBook is lots! :)

Thought depends on what you're writing about and who is reading!

    Thanks.

But would people read 200 + pages on a screen? To me, 10-20 pages is more than enough :)

I guess they can print it if they want to.

I would write as much as you can possibly write in as much detail as possible, however this does not mean just go blabbering on, quite the opposite keep the eBook clear and concise however if you feel there is detail to add..add it.

My first eBook i writ was 30 pages long approximately 7000 words and i am quite happy with that length. I have had no complaints yet.

I finished reading The Four Tier Annihilation Method ("make money online ebook") in one go the other day, that was 145 pages. Yes, people will read that much as long as they are dedicated to learning enough.

If it's an instructional type book that tells people how to do stuff, then it depends on quality, not quantity. It's the actual information that the people pay for, not the amount of pages. If you have a lot of valuable stuff, like the ebook I just mentioned, then 150 pages is great. If not, 10 pages is fine too.

I'd say just write until you don't have anything else to write!

But, as someone up there said, if it's a novel or something then it can easily be 200 pages or more.

In the end, it's up to you mate.

It depends on the audience of your ebook. If your audience is familiar with the subject matter then u can skip details.

The way I look at ebooks is this:

For the most part, the information in most ebooks could probably be found by performing multiple google searches, and multiple trips to the library, reading multiple books and articles.

To me, the value in an ebook is that the author did all that research for me, and I'm willing to pay him/her $10-$100 fore the effort, depending on how desperate I am for the information.

My opinion, is: the fewest amount of pages needed to overdeliver on the claims made by your salesletter.

Personally, I would prefer reading a short, concise ebook. The faster that I get the important details, the better. Also, it depends on your target audience. If you want to target the "influencers" (top marketing gurus), then of course you need to present your case and/or arguments to the hilt. However, if you want to target the newbies, and you know that those newbies have enough time to read more than a hundred pages so long as they know that they can learn something valuable in the end, then go for it.
