How many pages do you use to submit to link directories?

I am thinking of submitting to link directories
and I know that we can create a few profiles
so that they can rotate the submission.

I was wondering are we allow to link the
keywords to different pages in our website.

If this is possible, is it best to use different
keywords with your main domain name...

or is it better to use different keywords
with different pages in your website.

Almost all directories do not allow deep linking unless you pay extra for it. just add your main page and use a couple different keywords in title for each one.

I rather have all link back focus on the home page.. if your home page is well internal linked, i guess it will pass down the PR to all the rest.

Precisely. I've been able to get various keywords to Google's first page this way. The "anchor text" in titles seems to be profoundly important in the search results. Vary it a bit in your directory submissions and get more than one keyword scoring highly.

do you mean submitting article directories or link directories? if you mean link directories, they will only allow you to submit deep links when you pay them. if you mean article directories, it's better to use different profiles

That's my primary strategy, too. But I readily accept deep links to inner pages when they are offered. They help, too. Get all the good links you can, period.

If I can submit up to 5 profile, that means that I will need to include
the 5 keywords into my title tag.
As I can only have 1 index page,
    Is this what you mean?

I don't think so. Let me give an example of what I mean.

The official title of my website currently is: "Online Bible Studies, Free Sermons, and Pentecostal Sermon Central". That's what would show up as the title in a Google search.

Now directories don't usually like titles that long. So for that reason, plus to get some variety in the anchor text of my directory submissions, I might shorten the title on the submission page to any of the following:

    • Online Bible Studies
    • Free Sermons
    • Pentecostal Sermon Central
    • Pentecostal Sermons
    • Free Bible Studies

I would use these for directory submissions. And when the keywords are isolated and used separately like this, they will carry more weight in the search engines than if you stuff them all together into the title.

True, you usually have to pay for deep links in link directories. But within reason (see my post above), you can vary the anchor text describing your home page that you are submitting to link directories. Of course, it's important that the anchor text you use has some descriptive relationship to your home page. Otherwise, it just becomes spamming.
