How many outbound links

    Hey everyone,

Asking for your opinions again this time regarding the maximum number of outbound links a site should have before it becomes less effective.

Example, if I am offered to link to a PR7 site with 10 outbound links, this is probably OK, however am I correct in assuming a PR7 site with 40 outbound links with give me little to no value at all? How do outbound links effect Google?

A rough guide on the maximum outbound links on PR5, 6, 7 & 8 pages to be effective would be appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Adam

I'm not sure that I have any useful insight about quantities...

But you do hear people speculate on the logarithmic scaling implicit in PR... numbers like 6 or 7 get bandied about (at least in a couple of discussions that I've seen)...

If you did have a guess about the scaling--say it's 7--you could maybe develop some useful rules of thumb with that? E.g., if PR7 carries seven times the horsepower that a PR6 does and a PR8 carries seven times the horsepower that a PR7 does, a PR8 might be able to have 49 times as many links...

Yah, if you can get a PR7 link easily, and it's a debate about whether there'd be 9 or 12 other links on the page, do it for both, because that pr7 will help out a bunch more.

The link juice is diluted by the number of outbound links on the page.
