How many of you use offline marketing?

How many of you still use or have ever used offline marketing as a way to promote? I don't mean just business cards. I mean going the whole nine....using flyers, brochures, posters, etc. A lot of my business partners make fun of me because I love offline marketing. It may be old fashioned but it works :)

    What do you think?

Offline marketing is much more than the paper marketing collateral that you reference above. Forget about all of the other offline marketing activities that an organization should do and let's just focus on one aspect of marketing which is lead (or traffic) generation. There are ten ways that a marketer can generate leads and I will list them below with notes as to whether they can be used offline, online or both. They are listed in descending order based upon the quality (not quantity) of the lead/traffic that they produce in my experience:

    1. Customer Referrals (offline and online)
    2. Third Party Referrals (offline and online)
    3. Public Relations (offline and online)
    4. Direct Mail (offline and online)
    5. Telemarketing (offline)
    6. SEO (online)
    7. SEM (online)
    8. Social Media/Networking (offline and online)
    9. General Advertising (offline and online)
    10. Trade Shows/Conferences (offline and online)

To me, it is much more important to be sure that you have a well-balanced regimen of generating leads or traffic based upon using as many of the above techniques that you can afford and have time to manage. This limits your risk of dependence on one source of leads that could falter at some point and imperil your bsuiness. And I strongly advise combining offline as well as online marketing components for this same reason.

By the way, offline marketing is not just for local businesses. I have done worldwide offline marketing for many years.

Thanks for your responses. I agree that offline is not just for local businesses & yes you should use offline marketing and online marketing collectively.

Offline marketing is an important one, Remember everyone does not use computers nor does searches for business outlets in their areas on the internet.A good business marketing strategy would be to use a mix of both online & Offline Marketing.

You have to promote you product or service at both platform Online as well as Offline marketing.
You can offer your product as the prize for a local contest, whether it’s for a church fete raffle or a school fancy dress competition, this will really cast your business in a positive light.
i uses both but main focus is at Online Marketing.
