    Hi,

I am going to start a project for which I have to send payments to different people frequently.

Paypal is not available in my country so I am thinking to use Alertpay, which is also a good and international payment processor. But, I don't know whether most people accept it or not. Same with moneybookers.

So, i want to know which one do you use. Kindly, tell me and participate in poll.

    Thanks
    momi

Yes, most of the people around the world use PayPal only.
After that comes AP and MB. :)

Yes, those living in the US will almost always use PayPal. I am also interested in this as I am thinking of starting a freelance site for article writers and for me it's about price. Since PayPal is also not available to use where I live here is what I think I would be offering to users.

1st, Webmoney, they have the lowest transaction fee's and their withdrawal fees are also low,

2nd, Moneybookers, they have low transaction fees also, but I would apply of a "merchant/business" account since this would allow US customers to use their CC to pay. I understood that Moneybookers accounts from the US are only able to pay via CC and could not upload funds or accept funds (like we are with PayPal)

3rd, AlertPay, while most US type customers would be more willing to use this service it has high fee's, when compared to the others and offers limited ways to upload funds to your account.

A 4th option would be liqpay.com they have stupidly low fee's which I love but I understand their fraud department is a bit paranoid. So maybe for small to medium transactions they would be okay.

I think if you are paying people or transferring money to them the best way is to pick a few options like all or most o the above along with western union or money gram and see which one users use the most and start dumping the others and just offer a core selection.

Depending upon where your customers are I would offer them the option of PayPal, AlertPay, Payoneer (as somebody else has already mention), iDeal (Netherlands available in this region only I believe for direct deposit into sellers bank account), Moneybookers and several other payment processors who have great reviews from customers who use them. You also have to keep in mind you would be required to establish an account with each of these payment processors and find out exactly what limitations or holds they put on new accounts which are establish with them. Best of luck.

I would like to point out that as far as I know unless you can do direct deposit there is no way to "Offer" Payoneer as a "Payment" option, somebody correct me if I am wrong. Also clearly momi can not use PayPal so I don't think it's an option it is not an option.

I think momi is clearly looking for a PayPal alternative I hope there are some more people who can offer some.

We are using Alertpay, Plimus and Moneybookers for quite long time, all are good processors for sending money, we are using Plimus for receiving money and also used Alertpay for few sites. Both do well in receiving money but it depends from product to product and also from country to country.

Thanks to all who replied especially "OnTheEdge". Will not using paypal and using it's alternatives has adverse affect on the business???

For example; do all of you work for anyone who is willing to pay via alertpay but not via paypal??

We accept AlertPay, PayPal :(, 2Checkout for credit cards, and offline payments such as Banktransfer(ACH) for those who do not want to use online payments. PayPal is a pain in the axx as they refund purchases to the customer without consent, the problem with PayPal is that it's one of those must haves. But I actually prefer customers who pay with 2Checkout or AlertPay.
