I want to get one to use with Photoshop. I would like to hear from people who uses PS a lot, do you actually use a tablet? Can you recommend an entry model that I should get, possibly from ebay?

I've used a Wacom for about 12 years now. Don't get the small "personal" size.. go at least one up from that. I've had my current Intuos for over 6 or 7 years I think? I've never had one go belly up. I don't use it all the time, but there are times in PS when it is essential to me.

I think you mean A5? Also, are there any drawbacks in getting a serial one instead of a usb? I assume their functionality would be identical.

Yes I use a Wacom and couldn't do without. What I would say though is don't be fooled into thinking you need a biggun. Mine is 6" x 8" and thats just perfect for the wrist action without having to move your arm.

I would probably get the USB one now. The Serial has an annoying plug-- the power cord plugs into the serial cord and then has a wall wart. I assume the USB draws power with the data cable without the wart.

Pressure sensitivity... and the ability to use your wrist and arm in a normal drawing motion for sketches or shading.
