Hi, I was just wondering how many users surf with javascript disabled. If you do please tell us what you do (what you surf the web for) and why you have javascript disabled.

There results should be interesting and important to any web developer.

    Thanks

Another thing that's missing is a partial option. In FF I have some JS functions disabled. (Go to Tools > Options > Content > Advanced to choose what you want to disable). It's not an all or nothing thing, but there are some aspects of JS that are more annoying than others.

Most stats programs will tell you what percentage of YOUR users are using js and not.

    ....just a thought. ;)

Well if DP would like to share that information I would love to take look at it. I don't run sites with enough traffic to base something on them.

98.5% of my users have js enabled.

Now a days it is really hard to surf the web and with JavaScript disabled. Especially on forums like this that use Ajax extensively.

I am wondering if you are collecting data for a school project? I think you will find as you get more samples that 98% of respondents surf with Javascript enabled. First reason being it is enabled by default. What is the population you want to sample? Most users here are very web/browser savy. There are still losts of people out in cyberland that don't even know what Java script is let along know if they have it turned on or off !!

I haven't heard of any harm to the computer due to Javascript being enabled... I always have it enabled.

The reason I'm interested is because I'm starting a new project; a web application and it's very appealing and would make my life much easier to use javascript widgets. Plus they really make the experience of the users much better where you don't have to reload the page to sort data and with other cool features.

CEO is not a big issue because it's not really a content site, so my concern is how many users will be turned away because their js is disabled. The target users are web masters that know what javascript is.
