I haven't smoked in 4 years. Why? Because the longer the smoke the shorter the poke...

I quit 12 years ago, thought I dodged the bullet for a while. Came down with symptoms of COPD about 3 years ago and I'm screwed royally. I wouldn't recommend smoking and strongly recommend quitting. It's a dirty, nasty, cruddy, dingy, filthy, foul, grimy, grungy, mucky habit.

I used to smoke but it was for a very short duration.

The funniest part was that I never inhaled the smoke and once someone noticed me doing that and asked why. I said that its just that I wanted to try it out.

But my sincere advice, stay away from this.

I gave up smoking on November 11, 2001.
One of the best decisions I've ever made.

At least you are trying, I've never smoked but I do know that it takes a very strong person to actually quit the habit.

I am heavy smoker, not a regular. I smoke 3 1/2 up to 4 Marlboro packs a day even I don't like the sound of it. I have attempted to quit several times but the result of that is it bites me in the rear worse. For instance I used to smoke 1 pack and half, quit cold turkey and went back smoking in 4 days and when I did I started smoking 2 packs and 1/2 and then I quit again few years later and it bit me in the rear even worse, in a week I started smoking again and now I am smoking 3 1/2 to 4 packs a day. So I told myself that I'd never try to quit smoking again otherwise I am going to hurt myself even more by smoking more packs if I quit for few days.

Smoking is some pleasure for some of people, some isn't as I don't smoke for pleasure I smoke to keep my stress steady and keep my nerves down. Several families passed away within' 5 years so I guess depression is included as well.

I have quit smoking for nearly 2 weeks! I'm an on-again, off-again smoker and have been for a few years now.

Seriously, the best way to quit smoking is to get sick with it. I always end up with a chest infection or strep throat or something similar, and it's honestly a blessing because it gets me off the smokes.

    Wouldn't recommend tobacco to anyone.
