How many of you run a file mirroring site?

Just wondering how many DP users have file mirroring sites.

So do you?

 

I did run it last years but now already sold it.
This kind of site did not earn much plus the server needed more power and ram to run this site.
Financial status is barely able to cover the server cost that is around $300/month with not much left for marketing.

 

Yup, i ended up selling my 2 month old site.
Bandwidth cost too much... server's with enough juice cost too much also.

 

I can imagine that bandwidth cost would get very high and it would be difficult to earn enough revenue to offset the cost of the bandwidth in order to be profitable.

 

Often people go for the unlimited bandwidth hosts and are able to survive for awhile, at least until they get banned from their host for "abuse"

I thought that these type of sites earnt some good money i was aware that the server demands are high but the revenue that you can earn from them would more than cover the server costs.

 

That's only the case when you can get enough bulk bandwidth to cover the whole month and make enough clicks on ads
