bzzu: Maybe you should try again and don't try to punish Google for your mistakes. There's significant money out there with Adsense if you want it. I know.

It's important to let people understand that making sufficient income from the web to support yourself (and sometimes a family) is not that easy. Yes, it's easy to make a few bucks, but if you really want to earn a good income it takes allot of hard work and you have to know what you're doing. It's extremely easy to suddenly lose your income if you just rely on one source. Doing allot of research helps - it takes time.

I think you should not leave your job immediately if you hit success. Instead better outsource the work or hire some people to do some part of your work. If you quit your job and than looses money in your online business as well than you are gone!!!

I am still in high school, and I am on the road to failing my GCSE's (even in ICT)
Why? because I dont do the coursework. I took the ICT course because I thought it would expand my knowledge of computers. But what are we doing? Word fucking processing, how to use microsoft powerpoint and how to make a simple database in access. To be learning these skills at the age of 16 is pathetic if you ask me. So I dont do any of the coursework, most days I find myself not going to school, instead I end up in starbucks with a notepad, planning my next busininess venture.
I have had letters from the goverment, informing me that I will be fined up tp £2000 if continue to miss school. The truth is..I HATE SCHOOL, a complete waste of time for me. I can make up to £400 a week when not in school, partly on ebay, partly with sales of various things to people in my community.

I have only just become intersted in Internet marketing, and when I QUIT school, I plan to make the most of it.

    When he's a millionaire?

I'm being quite serious. That's the kind of attitude that will see him living far more comfortable then most of his peers before he's 25-30.

There's far too much emphasis on 'school' and 'education' - anyone can get a minimum wage un-skilled job to see them able to survive while they work on ideas and side projects. You don't need school and education for that.

Sounds like the guy already knows the path he wants to take and he obviously has the mind for it. Nice to see I say.

LOL, nanotech? I had an undergrad job researching cancer using nanotechnology. for going into nanotech you've got to have a PHD in chemistry..some of these chemistry classes require using calculus..give yourself atleast 10 years to get into this field.

lol, insulin is actually released to lower blood sugar (aka after drinking lots of pop). during sleep your body is more likely to release glucagon which stimulates the liver to release glycogen.

That's the thing. most students in college are smart enough to handle businesses, and especially online businesses 'cause you can do it from home. you can also simply take a semester or two off and once it gets you steady money, then you can go back to studying and make money while in class.

lol, i thought that in the US ppl didn't have freedom. hahha you get fined for dropping out? go to detroit..no body cares if you drop out. lol it's always crazy in europe..in one european country it is wrong(prison sentence) to say that the holocaust was over exaggerated or to deny it completely. i mean c'mon what about our freedom of speech? glad I go to university of michigan..can smoke all the weed i want, protest anything, and join any crazy activist group.

Wow, what an inspiring thread. I don't think I've ever read through a thread this long before! :D

I'm currently making a part time income on the web (not from adsense though - I'd be homeless & starving if I was depending on that right now, lol!), and I work part time. I do the employed work from home though, so it's not so bad. I've done full time jobs before & hated every one of them - I'm just too much of a control freak with too many creative ideas of my own to ever be happy working for others. I aim to be getting all my income through self-employment within the year, and have a clear plan for getting there. Of course it might take a bit more (or less!) time, & I'm happy to be flexible.

It's great to see so many teenagers already supporting themselves with their own businesses. I wish I'd got into this earlier (I'm early 30s now). I've been online for years, but the income-generating potential of the web never really struck me until relatively recently.

Regarding higher education - I agree that it can be a great idea, but only if you go for a subject you really love. It's certainly not essential for success. I went to university (and stayed there) more as a way to escape 9-5, and then to avoid going back into it - not the best of motives. Don't make my mistake and spend years getting a post-grad education in a subject that you lost interest in long ago, and that isn't even of any practical use. I'd have been much off spending the time & energy on developing my business. Still, you live & learn....
