H**L you... LOL.. I recently had my YouTube account flagged and banned (unethical practice by competitor because I was kicking his a**) But I had a video that was marketing an opportunity. I made $2020 without doing anything. Just put the video up and forgot about it. Granted it took close to a year for me to reach that but I didn't even know about it. I logged into my account one day and BOOM! I had $220 ready to be withdrawn. I found the video a month or 2 later and it had like 7k views. I bought some YouTube views (my first time seeing it work), did some optimization to make it rank better and my video went viral. It took a month for me to get up 14k views and later that month, I reached 20k+ views. I started building a list and the video was sending me 50 to 100 hits a day. I was adding 20 to 30 people a day to my email list. Sucks that I didn't realize how I was killing my list but it was a great experience. So to answer your question, video marketing is GREAT. You should definitely do it for your website. If you have a blog, you could even turn your blog post into articles
I tried it in the past for a job site. Didn't get much out of it. Although YT targets a wide variety of audiences, the majority of people come to it for fun and entertainment. So, I think to succeed on YT on a bigger scale you will have to target those audiences.
Videos put on youtube to be effective they must be well targeted. It's costly to make professional video and this only won't harm our image. If we have the ability to create them it will take some time. I agree with the fact that people are looking for entertainment mainly on youtube and you have to adjust in order to achieve results.
I disagree with the idea that you need the most professional videos to get traffic. I've seen really professional YouTube videos with only a few hundred few and cheaply made videos with 500,000 views.
I use youtube to promote IM product launches posted on my wordpress blog. It doesn't take much traffic to convert because of the very targeted keywords used.
Well i usually use Youtube for affiliate products promotion. I just create a simple powerpoint presentation based videos with affiliate product information. then upload them on youtube and other video sharing websites with the websites link or the affiliate link in the description. It really helped me in driving some good amount of traffic that converted into sales.
What other video sharing websites are you using? I've just had promotional videos made for me and they are already on YT, but I'd like to upload them on other websites.
The Best one is Youtube,. ,there are some others like : Dailymotion, Metacafe, Vimeo, Viddler, BlipTV etc.. But lately i have seen that most of them are not allowing clickable links in the video description anymore.
