For my vet blog I try to take my camera and actually take some photographs. Otherwise I use photos from my electronic notes, or if it's something realy generic then a credited image from flickr or something from google.
On the net, I mainly google and mention the source and for flyer's and regular advertising I'm buying royalty free images
Sxc.hu has royalty free images. Other sources. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=626366 http://www.2yi.net/free-stock-photos.html
Lemme ask you people this...honestly now...if you want to use an image from Flickr, do you contact the photographer first or do you just stick it up on your blog?
If Flickr photos are used for a blog that happens to have Adsense on it, does that make it commercial?
I have pmed the flickr person both times. Sometimes you don't get a response, but usually it's along hte lines of 'sure, I can't wait to see what you do'. That's because I edited the image a little bit. If you want to see what I did, I can pm you the url
I am not sure on that. I don't use adsense on my site so I am not worried. I would doubt there would be an issue though.
I take all my pictures. Sometimes it takes 100 shots to get a couple of really nice ones but it's fun taking the pics. Starting to make videos also Google seems to pick up on the videos when you put them on U tube. Brings in extra traffic.
There is a large potential for legal problems if you don't have properly licensed images. (Google, flickr, etc...) Try http://www.freerangestock.com - totally free for commercial or personal use.
I use google, but i have a little disclaimer on my blog. There is adsense too, but it's hosted on blogspot.com and it0s too small to have problems i suppose.
I hope you are kidding since Google Images are the easiest way to violate Copyright law. Never free, always sketchy legal grounds.
Depends on blog. There are blogs where I need to use "royal" photos, there are blogs where I just search on sxc.hu. Also, flickr is a good resource, there are a lot of photographs open to give you their photos for "blog use" for a link.
For my computer repair business, i bought all of my images on my site. Bought images are always muchh nicer and you have full rights to put in ads etc etc.
