I've used photoshop for over 10 years. I recently learned everything about illustrator and I only go into photoshop to edit photos and draw/paint, period. Do yourself a favor a go with illustrator.
Once you have done with the tutorial, its good to know what are tools and filter for. So when you want to create thing, you know the tool and filter etc how to work.
Practice makes perfect. I believe that the more you use the program, it will be embedded into you memory. The key is to continue using the application software on a regular basis so you won't forget what you learned.
i have recently bring into play photoshop after getting fed up of firework and find it much better than other designing tools....
I photoshop! You want to learn the tools you would most likely start with. Google search easily comes up with photoshop tutorial. Then experiment. Or find a job. Create a logo, design, or a piece of art and play with the tools you learned. Then if you need help with a certain topic, google it or post in photoshop help forums.
I know photo editing in photoshop, but am currently using gimp (I switched). There is a free version called gimp shop that might be easier to learn
im use photoshop cs5 and learnt all my skills from tutvid.com (who are also have a youtube channel) its like riding a bike - once you've learnt it you never really forget, go on give it a go! i give up on fireworks though! haha
