It is quite awesome actually. I only usually use it just to sell products locally that I do not need anymore.
OP ... thanks I think you gave my an idea .... I want to sell some .com ... your post helped. cheers.
I had a problem trying to erase an ad and got this message "regardless of status (active, expired, deleted), all posts will appear on this list. we are not able to offer a removal option at this time." Is this their ad posting system down or is there something wrong with my account? I advertise my small business on CL and kind of rely on it.
First time on CG, really? lol I'm curious, what site would you use before? CG has been very helpful to me when I've needed to sell books, phone, or even furniture. Not to mention this has been ny number one place to look for apartments for rent. I agree with you on the "ugly" part, but how pretty does it need to be if you're on the site for a specific reason. You go on, find what you're looking for and bam! thats it.. lol
I don't use it a lot as i don't have shopping or online services. Can it be useful a lot to have traffic?
I am using craiglist to find workers to work for me sometimes but dp is more than enough when i dont get here i go to CL
craigslist is good website for advertisment but unfortunately there are a lot of scammer that abuse users.
Ok, CL is an ugly site, but I think it fits the theme. Imagine, its as if it were a garage sale, there are no aesthetics because the content does not deserve it. Many of the postings are for junk or help needed so what's the point of prettying everything up. IMO the look of the site reflects perfectly the mood and content of the site. Everything is also laid out very clearly for you and coupled with a strange captcha system makes this site stand out. It has high PR because of its popularity and roots.
I use Craigslist every week. I buy&sell estate items and use Craigslist to sell some of the items I purchase (as well as flea markets and auctions). I also find that by using some basic html and using a photo hosting service like photobucket (for linking to much larger pictures than Craigslist does) is very helpful. Scammers are on Craigslist as they are everywhere else. You just have to exercise a little caution and common sense.
