How many of my site articles should I submit?

In regards to submitting an article to an article directory, what percentage of the articles I write for my site should I submit?

If I submit all of them would I be penalised by the SEs?

There is nothing like getting penalised from SE's if u submit to many directories :)

You can submit your site to as many sites as u like :)
I submit my articles to many sites and not penalised yet :D so sharing my experience.

You should wait until the articles are cached by google. Then you will most likely not be penalized for duplicates, since google remembers where an article showed up first. I would still recommend to write completely different articles or at least make significant changes.

Keep the best articles for your site, submit lower quality ones to the article directories.

Then write some really amazing ones and email webmasters in your niche and offer them the rights to publish them on their site in return for a link to your site.

    thanks for the advice everyone

one thing though, surely I would want to get some of my best work put on some other websites so I can slowly build up a reputation as someone who knows what he is talking about. If I only submit my average articles am I not going to seem a bit naive on the subject matter?

Btw, so far I have only submitted one article "The Basics of Fundamental Analysis" to one article directory, namely Go Articles, and have found 3 websites that have published the article.

So I think this is a pretty good start, maybe I should submit it to more directories, though I doubt that many are as popular as Go.

Has anyone seen a link to article directories by any chance? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Search google, it will show the best ones and leave out the rubbish ones.
