Guys, I have found some very niche sites where competition links have around 15/20 links, some have more say 100 however most links are internal. I have a domain with the keyword in the titile and have excellent content on site... How many links do I need? I was thinking of manually submitting to say 20/25 of the top PR5-PR8 directories. Article marketing 2 articles and submitting to 100 directories especially the high PR ones, then finding high PR/ relevant blog links to comment on. I personally dont believe in the myth that Google will penalise you for too many link as otherwise everybody would be spamming their competition, I believe in excess links being disregarded by big G.... And although this is my belief, I dont want to waste any links.... So how many links should I build to beat my competition?? 100 a week? 1000 a week? Note I have an excellent system of varying comments/anchor texts to make site look unique, with around 60 % anchor text being keyword targeted to my specified keyw
it is not so clear as you think. The number of links to beat up your competitors is very different from one keywords to another. Also it important what kind of links you receive. For example if you sell "red widgets" and you have 20 links from the PR5 sites about "red widgets" you can rank much higher than you will have 100 links from PR2-3 sites about shopping. I think G can really ban for a very quick link building. You have to count that your competitors having more history, they run sites for 5+ years. So they have history with the G. If you have the same - you can buy/put/get/find a lot of links in a week or in a day or even in a minute. but if your site is new, I didn't advice you to be in hurry. I think to determine the right amount of links you have to start from the small like 10 links per week and grow this number step by step. try to make a mathematical model of the natural grow. it must looks like natural - so I think this is the secret of good rankings.
1 / 10 /100 / 1000 /day is not important. All it matter are consistency. If you are making an average 10-20 backlinks a day, try to keep it at that pace. A sudden increase and drop down might trigger the link farm alert big G's eye.
