    Hello,

It may be a crazy question, but how many links my website need to get PR4 for example ? I saw number of websites that do not have a lot links pointed to their websites but have even higher PR.

    King Regards...

    it depends on the PR.

for example pr0 to pr1 is near 100 backlinks

but pr1 to pr2 is more.

and the pr of the backlinks of the other sites may differ the need.

A single PR5 or PR6 links can get it..

It all depends on number of outgoing links on that PR5/6 page.

There is no quatitative minimum requirement as such, a lot also depends on the niche that you are working upon and the competition, but it is kinda, pr requirement of backlinks increases manifold with each pr (like 100 links pr1, 500 for pr2, 1500 pr3 10000 pr4 and it keeps increasing {btw that was only an example}) so you need to research and analyse your competition.

But quality of links also matters, get a backlink from a .gov website and there you go, i have a website which was linked to from faa.gov and got from pr0 to pr5 in 3 months flat, so quality matters

Thanks a lot, this clear the things for me. I saw domains with more than 6 years age with only 20 - 30 links that have very high PR, i think domain age is factor too.

If u get backlinks from High PR sites then u need less backlinks and if u have low PR backlinks then more backlinks needed.

nobody can give exact numbers for you.

in my opinion, do not limit yourself for the backlinks. get many backlinks as much as you can do

I don't know why people are still chasing page ranks. Don't worry about page rank. While a popular site does have a good page rank, all high page rank sites are not popular. If you do every thing right, your page rank will eventually go high. Stop chasing page rank and work on making your site useful to others. That is my 2 cents

    yea, but is a diff when u got your BL >your key< from a PR6 site, or a pr1 site !

if the PR is "nothing" why we still try to increase our PR? allow me to show a big smile

it depends on the PR and relevancy of the back links that you are getting for your website.

The incoming links are the only important consideration. There are others also. Most important of them I feel is relevance of the links. Others are: page content, page titles, code compliancy.Number of outgoing links (e.g. if the number of out going liinks is 400 then it is not as relevant as one with 12-15 outgoing links.)

If you ask me, 12-15 links looks kind incredibly spammy too with rare exceptions.

I'd look for pages that have 1 outbound link.

I've had sites that were PR3 with just two PR4 directory links in the past. PR 4 seams to take quite a bit more links, however.
