How many links to get a pr ranking?

Hope i got the right forum, I am new to Seo and page ranking and was wondering how many links you need to get a Pr of 1 and so on to 6?

Dont fully understand it all so any info or help would be GReat!!!

 

Almost 20 to 30 can make you boom if all are PR 4 or PR 5 , but it's hard to get backlink for high page ranks .

 

What if they were sites like mine with very low page rank alike, How many would i need then, i would like to keep costs down.

 

It is not the number of back links that your site has but it is important to look at the number of links from high page rank pages on relevant websites.

 

It depends on the page rank of the websites linking to yours. If you have a PR 8 site linking to you, you can get a PR 3-4 in a week.

No hits at all. PR is only about backlinks and PR is noy making you money unless you sell links on your site. Why dont you forget about PR for now and try to get visitors instead ?

 

What is the best way to get visitors, tried ppc but can get a little expensive.

I had a site that I sold today that had 146 backlinks, and it was a PR4.

 

Well, to help getting visitors from Google you need good unique content, and a lot of it.

 

toplists, link exchanges, blogs, myspace, forums, banner exchanges, press releases, mailing lists, possibilities endless. All depends on your list, budget and niche.

 

The amount isnt the case, the quality is, there may be a link which'd make you a pr6 or you could end up with pr1-2 with 100's.

The quality of link; you could look into page strength as well, it should be close to site's pr and few outlinks on the page you were linked. And it should be nofollow-free and pointing your domain, not out.php?id=.. etc.

 

As few as 10 PR 8 links with similar content as yours can give you a big boost. Reciprocals will lower your ranking and link farms may cause your ranking to fall.

correct. Also links from a different Class C block IPs are better than those of the same C Block.

e.g. Site A & Site B are both hosted on server X (ip = 123.123.123.1), Site C is on server Y (ip = 123.123.124.1).

If both Sites B & C link to site A, site C is worth more since the C Block IP is different.

 

It's going to take a while to really get into this and learn all the best methods.
