I'm sure you'll have to have a decent amount X,XXX. Also, I'm pretty sure backlinks aren't the only factor in terms of getting your PR higher. Yugo,
There is no definitive answer - this is because as the web grows a site may need more links (plus whatever other factors contribute to PR) to basically stay in the same place. Google uses an exponential scale of some variety to partition the rankings. As they don't change the number of ranks then either the exponential factor must change or number of links to get there. Other factors are of course the quality of the back links its relevance, PR of linking page etc etc
There is not really a set number, PR is not just based on the amount of backlinks you have, but also how frequently you update your content, your Search Engine position, and the amount of traffic your website recieves. Other than that, looking at other sites I would give a rough estimate of a PR 2 - 2000+, PR4 = - 10 000 +, PR 5 - 20 000 +
To my experience, the frequently of your content update is one important factor.I have some sites get reduction PR just because not updating anymore but with the same or even more backlinks.
When the frequency of updates becomes a factor I think Google is unjust to many of us blogger. A well researched article or prepared interview takes time and efforts and if one if after a certain quality of the content that appears on the site the articles posting mat not be as frequent. I have been having PR 3 for my blog for a while now , but am still not having more than 10 000 readers if that`s the minimum for an upgrade
Well it doesn't depend on quantity it depends on quality . So instead of concentrating on number of back links try and concentrate on quality back links .
very funny question here. you think only back links will gain PR for your website from 2 to 4 .. ? please write a different , Attractive, Relevant and great content for your website , and also try to build good and high quality Real back links for your website, hope it will surely help.
What I have find is about 200 to 300 links should give you PR2. Getting upto PR3 is easy but going to PR4 is a tough job.
Just get some Good PR5 and PR6 backlinks and on the next update you should get it. 20 PR5's or 3 PR6's should give you this. John
Links from relevant sources, and a variety of unique domains pointing back to your site. Not just 1000 sitewide links on a single domain will do it. If links are sitewide look for good good PR distribution through the domain
I don't think anyone can answer this accurately but I would think a couple of PR4 - PR5 links should work.
