How many links should one have on their site? I have a few sites that I run. All have links all pretty much related to each site. Does anyone have a ball parkfigure of how many should be put a site (even if there is plenty of room) before it looks like a link farm? Like any over 20 links would probably be to much I would think. What do you think?
Just my 2-cents worth... I don't have experience with this but seems to me, I would put the links that drive the most traffic to your site on the main page and then have another page for the links that bring in the lesser amount of traffic... I'm sure others here will have some better tips for you...
Thanks I had done that with one site where I had the heavy traffic on the main page and the less on the forum page. Someone told me that wasnt a wise idea to have on both the main page and forum. But I think it is a good idea though.
I personaly feels that one should not exceed 10 external links. And these links hould be placed very carefully so that they look like genuine links. Write quality content on your site and ask for quality backlinks. I don't see there is a perfect line between fair job and sp@m.
Hmmm that is what I dont want it to look like - is like spam. But what if the site is purely an informational site would it still look like spam if it exceeds 10 links as opposed a regular forum though?
As many as needed to fulfill your goal. If you want to educate visitors you may need loads, if you want to have the highest ad ctr, as few as possible... Etc.
Less is more... Page juice is divided among all external links.. So only link to important sites and add nofollow attribute to extra/less important external links.
