I know that PR is figureed by more then just links pointing back to that page. But I was wondering if anyone had an idea of about how many links one needs to increase their PR. I have been trying to find exacts and came up empty handed. I figure that the higher the PR the more links you will need. Like jumping from a 3 to a 4 takes less links then going from a 4 to a 5. Not sure if anyone can help, but if you have some insight i'd apreciate it.
HI, This is impossible to say that how many exact no. of links need to gain pr. Some time you can get pr with no back links. This is depending on your sites visibly in google.. Dilpreet
A good article that will tell you a bit of a consensus on how many links of what PR are required to achieve certain PR can be found here: http://http://www.compar.com/infopool/articles/PR-calculation.html However, this is all pre the latest PR update. PR appears to be all over the place now.
I think I messed up putting that link in. Try: http://www.compar.com/infopool/articles/PR-calculation.html
There are also some cases that a site with greater number of backlinks has a lower PR than a site with lesser amount of links..One of the reason is the value or quality of links that points to them
There's no exact number of backlinks to determine that your site will get better position on SERP. As long as you get lot of related backlinks this will help you improved SERP but still you also need to improved other elements that can affect your rankings.
