Hehe... Yeah, I can see your point. But, but, but.. How about DMOZ then? Where (and what) would they be without any number of accepted links (they do accept some links as far as I understand it )
My seo directory has less than 400 in about 2 months. But it's a niche directory (search engine optimization obviously). I do accept seo friendly directories as those are of seo interest, but other than that there are not too many websites interested, so I can't complain. Acceptance rate I believe is around 80-90%.
@emily very very nice domain... you make me jealous BTW .75 for regular??? what is even the point? lol
I have two Real Estate directories, the first one www.us-realestatedirectory.com has 398 links in 3 months. The 2nd one www.us-realestateagents.com has only 100 links, it is about a month old. Gary
Shoot, I can see I have an awful lot of work cut out for me... anybody want to PM me some shoestring promotion tips (so I don't hijack the thread). www.grokodile.com Online about two weeks... approx 50 entries.
I got around 950, but I only accept directories. Acceptance rate is around 20 - 30%. Seems like most people can't read the submission guidelines or they like to waste their (and my) time
Goes to show that some times there is a lot more work connected to a new activity than one could have foreseen Anyhow, it seems you are building a quality directory here - good luck with that.
Could you elaborate a little here, tell us exactly what are the standards you need to meet in order to qualify for an entry? I ask because I am uncertain as to what level of SEO is needed for a directory - is it all URL rewriting/title/keyword/description or?
