Hi. I want to ask you how many links do you have on your directories and how many have refferal, and of course in what period did you make those links. Thanks
Over each directory, 1 more than 1000, 3 less than 1000, 1 less than 500, haven't checked the exact numbers. Oldest being over 12 months.
The Authority Directory has 3557 active listings as of today and should hit at least 5000 over the next few months.
I don’t have links but I do have 65,000+ active submissions in Skaffe and 18,441 submissions in WoW. I never sold links, only reviews for possible submission.
I have a general directory that I keep pruned to 60,000 links. I have some niche directories that have a better structure with 50,000 links. Because of the structure (and better software to check for dead links, and general directory management, etc.) I expect to let these directories grow to more than a million links over time.
500 listings in my 3 month old blog directory, mostly added by me. I've just this week received the first couple of unsolicited submissions which are up to the standard of some of those I add myself, so that's encouraging
So many web businesses going under in the poor US economy that I’m seeing a negative growth period. We are removing a lot of websites, many more then we are submitting every week.
You'll get rough times, you'll get good times Stoner, its the ones that work through the storm that will make it. As for how many links we have in our directory? Not enough, but we'll get there.
Did you just say that you submitted your site 65'000 times to Skaffe directory? and another 18'441 to another directory... Isn't that spam?
Oh I see, you own skaffe. Skaffe.com, Bruce Stone. You know, calling potential customers names isn't smart. Infact many of the big directories do a lot of that, not a good public relations move at all. Especially as their survival is based on paid submission fees.
One has about 3000, though my latest only has around 6 in the pending queue. Not a single live link in the directory.....yet And no, it's not a QBC directory, far from it - it'll benefit many people in time to come, so watch this space. (Actually, watch the signature space instead)
I'd say the number of the websites listed in a directory is not relevant at all. Between having 1000 crappy sites vs. only 50 quality sites in each category, I will always go for the second option. As for my dirs...not enough...who the hell knows when enough is enough?
