Will anybody care to reveal me how many outbound links can I place in my home page? Presently, I am having 66 links...Is it Ok? I am afraid my PR may get reduced in the ensuing updating process...
Its your site and you can place as many links as you like . C'mon ... In my opinion less than 50 is a reasonable number. It includes both internal and external links. It gives max value to your external links and as well to internal links.
ha ha ha ha...Really it is my site to include links, but I don't want to get penalized from google guys.
66 External links could be too much. Your page rank may not get affected much. But you will not be passing enough PR value to linked pages.
I thought I remember reading somewhere that Google frowned upon more than 50. Please don't quote me as I'm not sure where I read that and how reliable the source.
I read similar stuff somewhere. Generally 40-50 links are good, but this includes both internal and external for best, or at least better PR distribution between pages and sites. BTW proprod, sorry to quote you though... Hope you won't mind. Bye
Google advised to stay under 100 but till date, we have yet to see any heavy penalty issued.. Most forum homepage has more than 100 links.. Google Source: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35769
Yeah its way to much in my opinion external links should be less then the internal links...may be I m wrong but I have read it some where....
Thank God!!! Any how, I have reduced the number of links to 44 (both external and internal). Now I'm so clear about the number of links to be placed in a home page. Thanks for all the contributors of this thread.
i've read <30 on each page not sure about that though...IMO maybe it'll look good with less than 30 links on each page and it is <=50 internal and external links combined...
