How many links are good to have on one page?

I have heard that there is a penalty if you have too many links on one page, is that correct? If yes, how many links are normal to have on one page?

on the max you should have 100 links...

the number of links that is good for SE bot is not more than 100 links.
if you have more than 100 links, you should separate them into pages.

 

Google says it's a maximum of 100, this is on pages that are visible to search engine.
If a page is hidden from search engines, you won't be penalized if you put more than 100 links.

Actually it's not a penalty, it looks more like software/hardware or database issue....

 

Use around 80 at most

If more, then separate by different pages
