How many links a day, on average, do you create for your website?

less than 1 link a day for me coz' i have check the quality link.

 

I have over 8 years of SEO experience with an emphasis on link building and I am always floored when I hear the high number of in bound links that people are acquiring on a daily basis.

First off, acquiring too many too fast is never a good thing, it's a huge footprint and Google easily sees it.

Secondly, large amounts of in bound links on a daily basis likely means that the process has been automated and the links will likely be of poor quality.

Thirdly, as part of that automated process, there is a good chance that the anchor text is not being varied enough which again is another huge footprint

Fourth, Gaining 100's of inbound links a day using any automation likely means that there is no deep linking involved, which also is another huge foot print

Fifth, it could take 100's of low quality links to have the same impact of 1 high quality link

I personally shoot for about 5-6 high quality in-bound text links per day with a varied anchor text, if I acquire 6 links I will use the same anchor text on 4 of them and different anchor texts for the other 2, I will also be sure to have at least one of those links point to an internal page (deep linking)

By using this formula I am able to get my websites ranked very well in a short period of time with a minimal amount of in-bound links (sometimes only a dozen links, or even less)

1000 new links from 1000 different domains - black hat, or viral marketing

 

wow some of you can find tons of links, i am still new at this, so 5-10 a day is good for me.

what are some of the better methods of finding do follow blogs or edu, gov blogs? I've seen some of the lists circulating and although the claim is that they are do follow, many really are not.

I try to stay in the anywhere from 100-1,000 range depending on the age of the site. Truthfully I think most people put too much stock into that sort of thing though.

Most of the blogs on the internet use WordPress as a CMS.
Links from such blogs are good, especially when they're related to your niche.
