I am an alternative therapist. My website has pages covering all the things I can help with. Each page covers a different topic such as stop smoking, weight loss, self harming, depression etc.

How many keywords per page is best? Am I best aiming for one keyword per page or more? for example for the stop smoking page should I try and aim for one keyword such as "stop smoking" or more than one such as "stop smoking" and "stop smoking easily"

There is no definitive answer: I think that one which is ok, and may strike a debate is that you should design your page with the reader in mind.

I think that any site is less a site than a collection of pages, a cross between an encyclopedia and a newspaper. It isn't a dictionary for sure.
I think that you should optimise your pages in the way that you have - one subject per page: the weight loss page, the self-harming page etc. and in each page, consider the content and try to strike a balance while keeping 2-4 strong phrases. Of course, this depends on page length, relevance and alternative connected articles.
I use some extensions on my firefox browser to look at strong players in my field (law) to see how strong their pages are. The best is the keyword density cloud:
http://www.webconfs.com/keyword-den...submit&url=http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/ It is very useful. I have chosen that page to show you a page that is well designed and not too heavily SEO'd.. (imho) but you could change it to look at your pages, it is easily done. (btw - it has nothing to do with me, so I'm not plugging my site)

    Hope this helps.
