I agree 100% with this, inbound linking is the key to SEO success. Don't try and do everything in one day. Slow and Steady SEO always wins the race!
What's everyone's opinion of % on inbound keyword links being the same? i.e. if you have one keyword phrase on over 50% of your links would that throw up a red flag for search engines?
I don't think so, I just think its better to vary them so you do not even run the risk of something like that happening. Besides you can rank in more terms by changing it up.
Yes, that's what I've done. By varying the text on the inbound links, I've been able to move lots of keywords up in the SERPs. And it looks more "natural" than getting a ton of links with maybe two variations of the exact same phrase.
Good job then, have you also been submitting to directories, and getting inbound links from sites like yours? I have a religious related website as well if your interested in trading links.
I actually target about 6-7 keywords probably more, but with most of them, I rank top 20, several top 5, few in top 100 (those are extremely cometitive - hundreds millions of web pages). But this worked only on one of websites I own. That one could rank with so many keywords as long as they are all related. While many other sites of mine don't do that. So, average keywords to target within 3-4 sounds ok to me. But it is possible to get ranked with 10 keywords or even more. It takes time though, and make sure those are all somewhat related to each other. You can do this without repeating same words too
what if the keywords are a phrase such as " low mortgage rate california " what is the best way to optimize ??
Phrases are actually easier than one word keywords. Basically use it in your meta tags & in your content.
I start bottoms up, optimize for less competitive terms and then work my way up to the competitive niches - for me its one - two at a time
OK,can i add a question?if yes Here it is,for adding subpages the best way is www.domain.com/subfolder/subpage or www.domain.com/subpage
Second option is best, but 1st is not terrible there is another thread here on DP where I discuss why more. Just search the SEO section its one of the top threads.
That question has already been answer many times dream. But 4-5 is to many for maximum placement unless the page is a pr 5 or higher.
