I usually make a list of the 20 most important keywords I want the site to rank, then I make a page for every 2 keywords, 20 keywords-10 pages...
I have a computer-internet related blog and I write about all sorts of things related to computers and the web. What keywords should I target? I'm confused.
I focus on max 5 main keywords. When the results in SERPs are good I try to boost my rankings for some less important keywords and phrases.
Focusing on a small number of keywords means all your links will appear with the same anchor text, which Google will not like. I work on around 5 pages at a time each with 2-5 keywords depending on the competition. This is especially useful if the keywords are related then links for one also help with the others.
"Focusing on a small number of keywords means all your links will appear with the same anchor text, which Google will not like" not sure this has any weight.. i had a one page sales page ranking No.1 in google.. all anchors had same backlink keyword.. everyoe of them. competition couldnt touch me. until it got google hacked also anyone experimented with sitemaps ? i took sitemap off a site and it jumped 14 pages onto the first page.. dont believe everything u read ppl !
I guess it really depends on your site. I usually work on 1-3 keywords and get them to top 5, then i get good link juice from those keywords and variations of those. Goes the job for me ;-)
It is best to optimise our web page with lots of different keywords.we should really focus on one or two keywords for each web page.IT is better to use each of our keywords no more than 4 or 5 times on a web page that contains between 300 to 400 words.
I work 10 at a time, per page. Only because I thought that was how it was done. Guess I should slow down some. Work what you can, and be comfortable with.
Each page (which is different from other pages) should have it's own main keyword or key phrases. Focus on at least 1-3 keywords per page.
