I have heard put your keyword in your meta description and title only once but the only people ahead of me for that specific keyword have it in there title and description up to 3 to 4 times. Would you guys recommend copying the guys in position one two and three?
For me 5-6 keywords is enough on your description. If you want to add your other keywords then add it on <meta content='keywords.....' name='KEYWORDS'/>
I would suggest putting your keyword in your description no more than 2 times per keyword, and typically you want to be targeting 5-6 keywords per page. Therefore i would say no more than 12 times however 12 is a lot, and this means repeating each keyword once so i would say 6-10 times if you can manage it.
Use the description to ..... describe the page! Forget how many times to repeat it, just make it comprehensible to your human viewers as it is only they who will be influenced by it to any great degree. As far as search engines go, there is very little benefit to be had from this meta tag.
I agree with hooperman..keep description which will attract a humans..keep meta keywords to attract search engines
Well I would suggest keep your description simple and relevant to the site content and yes place your targeted keyword in your description in such a way so that you get a meaningful sentence and not that at the end you are left with keywords only.
Put only once in the title. Your competitor is not ahead because of that title. He must have stronger back links.. You may use upto twice if you are targeting two keywords.. where apples is automatically targetted.. Eg.. Green Apples + Red Apples Just try to build a few more strong back links.. make then in content and beat ur compettor outof there in no time
Well, you can place about 20 keywords maximum in the keyword meta tag. However, the best sites rank high with five or six most relevant keywords. Adding irrelevant keywords can get you rank lower in fact.
