how many keywords can we have in mata tag

there is any rules and regulation for put keywords in meta tags. but main thing is that you must put your main keywords in meta tags so they are very helpful to you.

 

thats not what most seo people would say...... meta any where in the code is tracked by se,s so that it tags the bots relevantly

 

I will say no LIMIT. but yes, put only targeted keywords in the meta tags and no repeats.

 

It is absolutely absurd to not include Mete keywords and descriptions on your pages. For one, it takes a matter of minutes per page to do this. Secondly, your description is shown in search results so even if the search engine does not use this, people do. At the very least, use the description as an way to pull people into your site.

To answer the original question, I usually only target 2 or 3 keywords per page.

There is no such type of limit which control you to use a fix number of keywords in meta tags , however no of characters in meta tags are limited ,otherwise it will be treated as Spam

like title approx 65-70 character
description up to 150 characters
keywords: 12-15 words

 

If you are talkin about Meta Keyword Tag, i will say it will be worthless to have more keywords in it. Hence its good practice to place the best and most relevant keywords in the tag.

 

UsinG Meta tag has no limited in use,that is your own property and Google has no power to overlook or drop it down form your site,the consequences of easy searching will become the issue if you put over number keywords,put smaller meta tag instead and combine it with site maps and updated original content daily and long tail keywords,that will make you LOVE by google

yes Meta Keyword & Description is always useful for seo, demands on how you use it,
as keyword is plus point same way if u abuse with keywords its will penalty your rank on search engine, so always careful with Keywords & describtion

its very complicated as no search engine tells how they work n how they crew, so better google it, you will find many tips on keywords & desc
