I always start with a large list and then sort them in order of importance for me to rank on. I then optimize on 8-16 key phrases, keeping in mind the other key phrases when generating content. It's important to make sure that your copy makes sense and is visitor friendly. The SEs are getting better and better at detecting KW stuffing. IMHO it's better to be at the top on a couple important key phrases than nowhere on many
Thats what i have at the moment... One big list I understand that the google bot dont scan all your keywords at once so, i will leave it as is for a month or so and then start sorting them out. Thank you for your reply
I never have a limit. Always add new keywords your website grows just dont forget about your old ones
I agree. However, it is important to start with a manageable number. If you spread your resources too thinly, you won't make progress anywhere. Choosing which keywords to begin optimizing is my biggest challenge. I tend to want to include everything. At some point, you have to just pick. I like to start with keywords that have a large range of competitiveness-some very competitive that will need a lot of work, some very niche so I am encouraged by some progress quickly.
This may be a stupit question : Do i just place my keywords in the meta section for the keywords and the googlebot will take care of the rest? is this how i optimize my keywords on my website? Im starting a website and i just want to make shoore i optimize my website correctly from the strat <head> <title> My video website </title> <meta name="Description" content=" What ever " /> <meta name="Keywords" content=" video, movies, video clips, " /> </head> <body>
You can target 5 major keyword and 5 minor keywords in each page. But that would depend on the theme of your website.
Yes, meta tags never hurt and may help. Here are a few more tips: Keep your website visitor friendly so that once people get to your site they want to stay. Make sure the text on the page is relevant to the keywords you are optimizing. Build quality links to your website incorporating keywords when ever possible. For instance, look at my signature. There is a link to an accounting services website. One of the keywords I'm optimizing is "Houston Accountant"
I want to thank you all for the help. Im starting a humor/video website and i know this market is very competitive market because of youtube, flickr ...ect I want to see how much traffic i can get from search engines without any atvertising. I want to optimize my website to the best that i can and see if it really help. i'm going to submit my website to 1000 directories with the keyword of my site and thats it. I hope this will work
Google pulls your keywords from the pages content, therefore there is no minimums or maximum keywords your site could show up for. It depends on your sites content.
I have notice that some of my competitors dont have keywords in their source code. I cannot believe that they dont use any keywords So, are they hiding it ? if yes, how do they do it.
They have their keywords in their content and Title tags , meta tag keyword is practically useless now.
well you can have as many keywords as you want but this won't really help you too much, in fact it can really just spread out your optimization. YOu need to focus your keyword optimization on specific keywords. try to optimize a page to one search phrase, not a ton of them.
Can you show me and example of this if you dont mind. I kinda know what you meen but i just want to be shoore
I want to know if i do the following will this help me: Let's say i submit my website to 1000 directories with funny movies as my titel will this meen that i will rank higher on that title because my keyword funny movies is linked to my website 1000 times?
That will help. Like FadetoBlack says, also insert it naturally in your text on the page and include it in title tag. Meta tags may not be worth much, but they are easy to put in and don't hurt so include it there as well.
