How many keywords at a time?

I'm setting up a new site to try and get some higher paid writing work, as DP just doesn't pay well enough.

I am no SEO specialist, but I'll just be doing it steadily. How many keywords should I aim for at one time?

I was thinking of focusing on 10 for the first three months or so and see how it goes really?

Submission wise I was thinking something along the lines of this (weekly), as this is really just something to do in my spare time (which is not a lot!).

When i started my site, 14 for first 3 months, then gradually increased to 27. I think 10 as you said was fine.

Why do not used keyword according keyword phase. Keyword phase is provide great result. So try it.

 

I have about 10 keywords that I'm starting with...so I'll go from there.

 

If you what to take it easy just go with max 3 keywords. That my opinion

 

Try going for long tailed first, try targeting a solid 5 and once you hit them or see signs of hitting them go for 15 or more. Good luck

 

I think number of keywords also depends on the site. Huge sites sometimes target more keywords compare to small ones. For me, 8-10 keywords is best to target for a web page because too many keywords will lessen its effect and also you will be having a hard time ranking high with those keywords.
