How many incoming links is too much to fast?

I know it takes a very long long time to create good content with good link building and to actually do well. I'm having trouble finding good incoming links, but I definately know about all of the different methods now though, there are quite a few methods.

My questions is how many links is considered to much to fast?

Like if I have a 15 page website, will getting 20 incoming links to each webpage with varying link anchor text be a good thing still?

I want to spend a whole day searching and I think I might be able to do it, hehe. I know it's totally probably not really going to work but just curious if I were able to do that, would it still be a good thing or bad?

The reason I ask is because I hear people sometimes say too many incoming links, too fast, is bad possibly?

I have a feeling this question has been asked before as well, but I'm having trouble using DP's search forum function. It like rejects every query I put into the search. Always giving errors like not enough words or something, even when I create massively complex searches It just won't search. Is this some kind of webmaster joke april fools day thing they forgot to turn off?

All links are good, just keep them coming in a steady rate.

The number you mention isn't too many too fast. Don't worry about it, just market your site as best you can and you'll be fine.

I wouldn't go buying thousands of links. This could be a red flag for a manual review with the search engines.

I have had experiences where I think too many links set off the sandbox in google which made the site disappear abit from results for over 6 months. But I am not 100% sure this was the links and not just and sandbox in general. I would be included to try to spend 1 day every 1 or 2 months looking at the site, reviewing the serps, target keywords and building backward links. Of course if the site is bigger and more important just spend more time. I think the key is persistance you need to keep at it for 1 to 2 yrs, making changes getting it right to see really results. Some people get it lucky and go straight to the top but be prepared to work for it.

Per page 20 one-way links. It is a good idea but very hard to get 20 backlinks for each page. You just get 4 relevant backlinks for each page, i think it will be sufficient and you will get good rank.

I guess it is alright to get between 50 and 100 incoming links per day per site/webpage.

Getting thematic incoming links is great but non-thematic should not be ignored.

Actually, this is one of the most talked about topics. Should I build links slow? should I build links fast? To tell you the truth, you won't find a "defenite" answer because there are two major schools of thought regarding this matter.

Some would say that having too many backlinks alla sudden would get you penalized. Now, that makes sense but I guess it's true only to the extent if your site is fairly new.

On the other hand, suppose that you have a site that's well aged and are my competitor and I want to have you penalized somehow. The easiest way for me would be to put your links or buy links pointing to your site rapidly. I could also put your link on a forum of some sort with thousands of pages indexed in Google. I can simply place your link sitewide on such a site and do that with every single competitor that I have? But does that work? I think not.

Linking "apparently" is not quite all in your hands so I believe this should not get you or any other site penalized because at the end of the day, every person who can afford to buy links or has access to resources where he could place his competitor's link on thousands of pages all at once, would just keep practicing this and dominate search results.

So, to sum it up, I think that if your site is new. Don't push the accelerator too hard. Article marketing has done wonders for many people. You might wana start doing that. Start working on directory submission, they take up some time and are counted as links (even if they don't have much of a value anymore). As your site ages, speed up the process and get more links.
