    How many hours you use laptop everyday? from which brand and configuration? How long are you using?

    I am trying to find out whether laptop can be used 16/18 hours everyday for programming/gaming. is HP Pavilion good one by AMD Turion X2 processor powered.

    If you asked me, when it school days, My loptop only gets its rest at night and approximately 12 hours is the time I use my laptop.

    I'm sure you could keep them on all the time as long as they are in environments that aren't too hot.

    I'm using HP Pavilion laptop with AMD processor it really gets hot after using 2 hours continously and sometimes it automatically gets restarted if we use it for 4-5 hours continously. It is a good laptop if you want to use lesser for example 1-2 hours. Get any intel processor they are better for long run. AMD gets hot and gives problem in long run.

    I use mine about...depending on the day anywhere from 1-6 hours a day, however I leave it on continuously. Its about 5 years old, and it used to overheat often, however I went out and got a cooling mat, so it doesn't anymore. I'd suggest getting one with an Intel Processor though, as it seems that they are able to handle it. Also, get a cooling mat, its for the best.

    Note: its a HP Pavilion dv4000

    I left my laptop on for 24 hours for several times and it is still working well.. I am using an Asus model.. Although the battery was no longer working well, the laptop is still fully functional.. In average, I usually use my laptop for at least 12 hours..
