I pass probably 12 hours in front of the monitor, that's because I really have a lot to do every day. Of course many pass more, but where do you find the time for shopping, exercise, sport, social? I wait your answers
Anywhere from 5 to 15 including Saturdays and Sundays. I do take extensive breaks to spend time with my family, though.
I have my computers on from about 6:30am to about 8:00pm or so seven days per week. I spend an awful lot of time in front of their monitors, but also am on the phone and do attend offsite meetings once or twice per week. When I am on the computer, most of my time is spent on emails. I am a sales/marketing guy, by the way. I could not tell you how many actual hours I sit staring at the screen, because it varies quite a bit and is always broken up with other activities, though I may be sitting there right in front of them.
LOL...to say nothing of carpal tunnel syndrome, bad back, etc. Computers are not really user-friendly at all from a physical perspective. I hope that changes at some point.
I doubt you really "have to" stay from 7 till 1 at the evening. That is more than natural. But then agian, I don't know your conditions. You should really think of some other way of acquiring capital if you have to work for such long hours.
Never said I worked the whole time. I work maybe 4 hours then I do some mentoring then I piss around with some of my websites then I sit on forums for a bit. I also make a lot of videos for my students but I don't class that as work, more of a hobby because I do it for free. Yea I don't have to sit in front of the computer but I choose to because I'm pretty much retired so that's how I like to spend my time now. Although my girlfriend gets pissed off she knows it buys the bullshit expensive handbags she always wants so she doesn't mind. I also don't like to sleep in, that's for lazy people. I do occasionally take time off to go fishing and travel. Maybe if I have kids some day that will change but meh, don't really want kids anyway.
Everyone is more complicated than a statement. I know that. I thought you were being consumed by work, hence staying in front of the PC even when it's causing health problems to you.
I can stay infront of my monitor for more than 10 hours. you can probably do this too if you listen to music as well while online.
I stay in front of the monitor for about 7-8 hours total. I know it's not much, I used to stay a lot more hours, and, ironically enough, I used to stay more when I was leasurely goofing around.
About 2 - 4 hours. I recently bought a raised desk that I stand at rather than sit so I don't develop back issues. Seems to help with the wrists too so. I'd rather not get carpel tunnel.
