Hi all, Just wondering how many hops an affiliate should have before they get a sale? Is there an acceptable standard?
If you are promoting via Adwords, it depends what the potential commission is for a sale. Then divide that by the average cost per click to give what is the break even point. I would say generally if it takes more than 150 hops I would look for another product to convert. MY best campaigns WERE converting every 50 or so hops, 2% but since Clickbank has gone all nuts it takes a lot more hops for a conversion.
Interesting, I am actually a vendor that just wanted to know if I was on track and as most of my stuff is above 2%, you have made me smile... Thanks I only know of one affiliate that sells via adwords and his conversion is much higher. Most of my affiliates use articles and stuff, so I guess I am on the right line. Just need to wait as my affiliate base grows.
If it takes more than 150 hops if you're paying for those hops, Then find a better product. However if its free traffic then anything past the 550 hops just isn't worth your time.
I recently got my first sale for about $23, and that was from 500 hops, it was free traffic to my blog so I would say 1 sale for 500 hops. But then again, it really depends on the content you have and what product you are promoting.
Thats really good. I am averaging 113 hops per sale but on the other hand I brought some free traffic and have not seen a sale even in about 750 hops
Thats cool. 15000/50 - 300 sales ...on average 20$ will be 300*20 = 6000 $ - 600 $ refunds = 5400 $ per month without anything.I would love to learn if you can share something on pm.
