I am promoting a product of Clickbank. I got 400 hops till now. How many hops are needed in average to sell a product.
depends on your traffic but anywhere from 1-100 tells me that it converts. if you are just sending random traffic then that number can go way up.
I think it depends upon the the visitors if the traffic is targeted then u may have a sale even after 10 hops and if the traffic is vague then maybe no sale even after 1000 hops.
According to my niche recently i made 2 sales for 65 hops and got 164.65$.So,it all depends upon niche u r trying.
400 hops and still no sale, that's strange. So you got 3 things to think about now: 1. It's either the product not converting 2. Your traffic is not targeted 3. Or your landing page doesn't match the product A good conversion rate is 1:100 or less
Probli that your traffic isnot targeted, i have a squidoo lense that gets alot of views a day getting like 40 hops a day but no sales and thats becuase i had the wrong traffic which ive relaised but only recently so ive made changes and hopefully my sales will go up!
Yes, it's all about quality of traffic. Some traffic simply doesn't convert. For example, if you place your link to traffic exchanges, 5,000 hops most probably won't give you a single sale!
To the OP. There is no standard for how many hops per sale. Test various products. And ditch the ones that don't convert. And push the ones that do harder. Just how it works.
Ok a few things to look at, first how are you targeting the traffic? Are you using PPC or organic traffic? Consider the look and feel of your landing page. And read over your sales pitch page. How are you trying to sell the product? Is it a review? Is it a "buy this cool thing!" type review? Bias any? Neutral viewpoint? People will do some research before buying a product, even if it catches their eye. They will look for reviews, or anyone that has used it personally before buying it. 400 hops and no sale could be either your sales pitch, not the right targeted traffic, or the product itself is not good enough. How is the gravity for the product? Does it sell for others? Perhaps email the merchant and ask him for advice.
