Hello, How many High PR backlinks are needed (just say from your experience) to rank high for a keyword with 100 million results... Also, please post about other keywords too.. which has less competition... I just want an idea... Am wondering whether I should go for some Hight PR links with my keywords as anchor text... instead of large number of PR0-PR3 links.... Please post your views on this
Don't use PR as the determining factor of whether or not you obtain a link. PR is actually losing more and more value in Google's algorithm and Trust Rank is taking over. TR usually is not correlated with PR so technically a PR1 link could actually be more valuable than a PR5 link. My suggestion to you is to obtain as many relevant links as possible. Set a goal for yourself and strive to get there. As for how many links are required to rank, you can get a general idea by using the link: operator in Yahoo for top ranking sites for your targeted keywords. Hope that helps.

PR doesn't matter to me anymore. As soon as I stopped worrying about PR my sites started getting more traffic from Google
If u hv high PR Back links (with PR 4 or more than it) approximate getting 400 back links. definitely falling yr most targeted KW on first page of Google. Dont strongly pick that taking KW wid less competition or more. if u use wid more competition KW, in beginning u hv to tuff to get well rank but later its will be rank well n get much wider audience. Added to usasportstraining concentrate also on getting more related links than getting lot of high PR site which is most of links is unrelated. Better if you could get links from site that has related content, related links and quality links.
Quite true. Think of your visitors. Would they find the links beneficial? If so, then you should be good to go.
Totally agree to forget about PR of the link - relevance of the link is most important. In fact a link from a high PR UN-RELATED site may do more harm than good as it looks more like a paid link - especially if not a contextual link in the text
Do not use PR as your basis in ranking your keyword instead you must have more relevant backlinks from relevant sites. It really help in ranking your keyword.
