There is no such rule but you have to target the main keyword so the search engine will not confuse.

Well it is true ,there is no hard and fast rule for applying more than one H1 tag per page. But it is recommended to use H1 tag only once in your tag hierarchy. It will help in Google ranking.:)

I highly recommend using only one h1 tag, which should be the main title of your page content, if you have/need any more than one, you need to seriously consider restructuring the content of your page. Have a read of this article:

Concur with the others, go with 1 H1 tag, then if you like, throw in some h2s, just dont spam a bunch of h2s needlessly, use them if it makes sense to create subheadings in your content. Work your way with that heirarchy.

IMO, more than one H1 is no additional benefit.

Hello, H1 tag is compulsory for turn your site google friendly but anything in access is harmful. So i suggest you can add h1 tag in the headline of content or main service of company & then you can add h2 & h3 tags in main keywords of the site.

As well as you can add 4-5 keywords in one page h1 tag.

I hope this is improve your site's ranking as soon as possible.

Yeah I would agree with the others, 1 H1 tag is best used, using keywords in the title, its also best to have at least 1 h2 tag on the page too, this allows Google to find more information on the one page, this is better practice for SEO. If more tags are needed, use no more than 3 H2 tags on top of the main H2 tag, then move to your H3 and so on. (I would only use H1,H2,H3 tags as using all would thin out on the content of the page, and also the main ones Google searches are the H1,H2,H3 tags).

I would say only 1 H1 and then from there figure out the organization of your headings that you want and then systematically go down the headings ie. h2 and h3 and so forth.
