Hi all... It is known to all that having your keywords in heading tags in one of the factor for seo but what is the limit on no. of <h1> and <h2> header tags on a single page?
If I share my experience one should use only once both <h1> and <h2> but if your need is more and cannot work without it then add 2nd but not more then 2.
Yes i agree with Alan Smith it is better to use only one H1 and H2 tags. Because google give more weight to H1 tags, if you use it more then it will consider as spam.
Use it only once. Otherwise your website will look clumsy.. Also <H1> and <H2> must not be more than h3, h4...
I always use just one <h1>, but <h2> tags depends on page length. I publish content with many <h2> tags with no problems, but article length plays a big role in how many I use. Short articles I use few, long articles I use many.
I use 1 h1, 2 h2's, 3 h3's and so on. This is not a RULE, just my personal ways and experiences. I know this conflicts with everybody else, but I've never had problems.
You use header elements to structure your page. It's a way of "outlining" your content like you would a story. The H1 element should only occur once per page. While there is no restriction in the HTML standards that says you cannot have multiple H1s, it's just bad practice. The H1 should provide the user with the main topic of the page similar to the title of a book. A single page shouldn't have 2 "main" topics just like a book shouldn't have 2 titles. Each page on your site should be about a different topic. The H2, H3, ..., H6 elements are used to subdivide the content of a page into sections. You can have as many H2s, H3s, etc. as are needed to divide the page's content into logical sections. Think of H2s as book chapters... H3s as sections within a chapter. H4s as sub-sections within a section within a chapter... and so on. I totally disagree with those who say 1 H1, 2 H2s, 3 H3s, etc. That's just like saying a Book can have 1 title, only 2 chapters, only 3 sections only 4 subsections, etc. Makes no sense.
A will fully agree with social-media. Only one H1 per page. But you can use as many as you want h2 header tags to structure your webpage. Just use them look natural. It will not look natural to have 20 h2 and one sentence under every h2 tag. But if you have few sections on one webpage you can divide them by h2. I have good results and positions with pages with 4-5 h2 tags.
Only 1 H1 tag per page. I usually use 2-3 H2 tags, and a couple h3 tags too. You must have them, but the quantity there isn't as important as with H1 tag. H1 tag is the defining tag for the page, so if you're using multiple, you're spamming and trying to confuse search engines. How many "sub header" tags you have is less relevant.
Yes,we only add once h1 and h2 , at present i only add h1 in the homepage, may i add h1 in all pages of my website?
